The team Captain of Nigeria’s Senior Women Basketball team (D’Tigress), Aisha Mohammed has identified the Malian team as the team’s toughest opponent at the Afro Basket championship.
She added that Nigeria was able to contain them by playing together as a team.
“Our coach said don’t stop playing until you hear the last buzz of the whistle and that was what we did.
“We just kept on playing until the end of the whistle and we came out with the victory,” Mohammed said.
She said that the coaching crew were good and knew what they were doing.
“They put us out there and we went there and did what we were supposed to do as players and came out with victory.”
Mohammed led D’Tigress to their third triumph at the Women Afrobasket as they defeated defending champions, Senegal in the final.
